UKHSA Conference 2023 – save the date and call for abstracts

UKHSA's flagship Conference will take place this year on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 November, returning to the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.

Introduction to Integrated Health Protection training course

The Introduction to Integrated Health Protection training course will be delivered under the leadership of the Champs Public Health Collaborative and UKHSA for colleagues in Cheshire and Merseyside. The course will focus on general health protection principles, and will aim to provide a strong overview of the practice and its benefits giving a good introduction to health protection for those who are new to this area of work, or as a refresher for those who need it. Population health is an increasingly important focus for the health and care system as organisations start to work together and with their communities to improve health and tackle health inequalities for people they collectively serve.

Public Health Apprenticeships in the Northwest

The University of Salford are looking forward to welcoming its next cohort of Public Health Practitioner Degree Apprentices in January 2024. The degree apprenticeship was developed through consultation with OHID and employers working in a variety of public health related fields, enabling successful graduates to work as registered public health practitioners. The programme has been running for the past 3 years, and we are excited to have our first cohorts of graduates in December.

Tackling health inequalities through Population Health Management Leadership Programme

These 90 minutes masterclasses help you tackle some of the health and workforce inequalities from a regional, local and national level to support you build and adopt a population health management approach in your day-to-day work. The Programme is a collaborative work of five NHS England Leadership & Lifelong Learning Teams. This series of masterclasses will be accessible across NHS England’s five regions East of England, Midlands, London, Southeast and Northwest. Since it first started in 2019, as a celebration of social prescribing to recognise link workers, local community groups and regional and national organisations which support people’s health and wellbeing it has become a much anticipated date in our calendar. Now in it's 5th year, like social prescribing it continues to grow. We want to hear your stories for #SocialPrescribingDay. Active Travel England - £200m capital funding

The deadline for local authorities to submit bids in to this £200m capital funding pot is 24th February, so time is very short. If you haven't engaged with your local authority to bring your site(s) / routes in to your sites in to the mix, now is the time!
