C&M Public Health Workforce Work Programme

The steering group for the C&M public health workforce development programme met this week to discuss progress and ongoing programme priorities, chaired by Matt Tyrer – Director of Public Health for Cheshire East Council.

The three key messages from the meeting are summarised below – for further information about the work go to www.champspublichealth.com/public-health-workforce-development/ or email stephenpeters@wirral.gov.uk

1.The MECC relaunch saw significant attendance from across C&M and received excellent feedback. Additionally, we have had very positive feedback on how MECC resources are being used across C&M.

2.At the Application into Practice – Behavioural and Social Sciences Public Health Network workshop there was representation from every public health team in Cheshire and Merseyside.

3.Workforce needs are a key priority, and we are delivering on this through delivering training that has been requested in surveys. Furthermore, work on wellbeing and career development is progressing well.
