OHID's Health Equity Assessment Tool (HEAT)

The Health Equity Assessment Tool (HEAT) was developed by PHE (OHID’s predecessor organisation)  is a tool for professionals across the public health, local authority & healthcare landscape to:

  • systematically address health inequalities and equity-related to a programme of work or service
  • identify what action can be taken to reduce health inequalities and promote equality and inclusion

OHID North West provide occasional training to use the HEAT tool and coordinate a Community of Practice.  For further information regarding the HEAT Tool visit https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/health-equity-assessment-tool-heat and HEAT e-learning is available at  https://www.e-lfh.org.uk/programmes/health-equity-assessment-tool-heat/ although we also recommend face to face training too, but this is an excellent intro.
